A great life happens by design, not by chance and we all need a framework to create a life where we are excited, empowered and inspired.
 
In this special 4 part series to celebrate the launch of the new Pete Cohen Podcast, we explore how we can create better stories by changing how we make our movies!
 
In Part 4, we discuss how to become world-class movie producers. Building on work from previous episodes covering the roles of the actor (Part 2) and director (Part 3), the role of the producer relies on having faith in our ability to create the life that we want.
 
Pete encourages us to look at our choices objectively and warns us of the traps behind falling back into our old conditioning. He explains that the decisions we make are writing the movie script - whether we like it or not!

The world is suffering from a shortage of inspiration. Wherever we look, we see people moving through the world without passion and who are failing to fulfil their true purpose in life.
 
What we need is an Inspiration Revolution.
 
It is estimated that only 2% of the population truly know where they want to go or know the type of life they want to lead. For the rest of us, we often move away from things or situations we don’t like, but rarely proactively move towards something we want.
 
By being inspired, we have the ability to make better choices and move towards where we want to go. When we are inspired, we have the ability to breath life into projects, as well as inspiring others and making the world a much more interesting and exciting place to be.
 
We are surrounded by an infinite number of possibilities and opportunities on our journeys through life, giving us the chance to create a live a brilliant story. The secret is to start with the end in mind and work back to create a story that you would want to be the lead character in.

We all have heroes. Whether it’s a relative, friend or someone from TV, our heroes have the power to shape our future decisions and guide who we become. 
 
In this emotional finale to the Mi365 Podcast series, we hear from our host Pete Cohen about one of his heroes – actor/comedian Rik Mayall, made famous during the 80s with hit British sitcoms including Black Adder and The Young Ones.

On the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, Pete and Patti discuss the importance of celebrating diversity, inclusion and pride in this special episode of Pete and Patti’s Powerful Particulars podcast!

In this candid episode, the pair discuss what it is like to be marginalised in society and the historical (and not so historical) stigmas of being different. Using ‘being in the closet’ as a metaphor, Pete explores the importance of acknowledging who we really are (independent of sexual orientation) and true to ourselves.

Patti shares her experiences of growing up gay – from being a child in Idaho through to ‘coming out’ in her teenage years and the impact that it had on her family. Fast-forward 20 years and it’s a very different story, with Patti describing the very tangible benefits of encouraging diversity – including understanding your audience / customers better.

As people become more accepting, it is important that we continue to support others to be their authentic selves; celebrating the differences between us. The pair wrap up this emotion-packed episode by asking where does prejudice and insecurity stem from and reminding us that on an energetic level, we are all very much the same!

In this episode, we are joined by the amazing Katie Porter (Pickworth) for a run down of her new book titled: ‘Going Doolally: An honest tale of anxiety and motherhood’.

After a lifetime of managing anxious thoughts, Katie gives us a candid insight into how motherhood caused a bump in the road, leading to receiving medication and her story back towards positive mental health.

Katie shares with us her story of anxiety – starting at just 4 years old with the passing of her grandma – and the journey she’s been on ever since including struggles at school, with friends and in the workplace. Despite this, Katie explains how she managed to build a successful career in TV production – meeting our host Pete Cohen! – and learn that we are all in control of our thoughts and feelings, with the option of making different choices.

The break off into a wider discussion into anxiety within the world of TV/media, discussing the importance of mental health support for reality TV stars, why nutrition is so important for positivity and how to develop a sense of appreciation for life.

We can all choose where we live. We’re not talking about location – we’re talking about where we choose to put our attention – the past, present or future.
 
We have a lot of thoughts. Each day, we have an average of 50-70,000 thoughts – all with the potential to radically alter our emotions, mood and physiology. Research shows that for most of us, many of these thoughts are connected to the past and this creates problems for moving forward and living our best lives.
 
In this episode, we explore the link between thoughts and physiology and describe how our bodies become our subconscious mind – especially after 35. Over 70% of the population suffer from chronic stress and this manifests itself as the ‘victim mindset’. How we live our lives is governed by our emotions. We often consider our emotions to be spontaneous and outside of our control yet in reality, this is very far from the truth. Many people live lives full of chronic stress and negative attitudes and the impact of this is clear to see - physical sickness, depression, anxiety and loneliness.
 
In order to live life at the fullest, we must learn to take control of our emotions. We can choose what feeling we want to experience - yet this ability is hidden through lack of conscious effort. Society causes us to foster emotions of being 'not quite good enough' and once coupled with our biological predisposition for feeling fear, it can become difficult to switch back to a positive mindset.

Technology is everywhere. From our phones, to cars, workplaces and homes, artificial intelligence (AI) exists and shapes our lives. Is this a good thing? Or does this affect the human condition? In this episode, we will debate the role of AI versus ‘ancient intelligence’ – guidance and ‘tools’ from human sources.
 
Humans have always looked to improve the quality of their lives, even back in ancient times. “Stop! Imposter!”

Imposter Syndrome is everywhere. But what exactly is it? Where did it come from and why does it pose such a serious problem to us all?
 
Imposter Syndrome is something we should all be talking about. In this episode, Pete starts a debate about this topical issue and describes what it is, the effects it can have and how you can overcome it.
 
If you’ve ever doubted yourself or felt fear of being exposed/found out then it’s likely that you’ve experienced Imposter Syndrome. It is commonly associated with high achievers, but especially common in women but in reality, it is likely that we all have it to some degree. Imposter Syndrome can have massive effects too – by limiting our feelings of inspiration, we can often delay or stop trying to achieve more, causing us to stagnate and feel like a failure.
