The 'Self-Help' Industry is booming. Worth over $9.9billion, more and more of us are investing in ourselves and purchasing books, courses and personal coaching sessions. Yet, despite the massive spend, are we feeling and living better? Are we getting to where we want to go?

In this special 150 episode anniversary, Pete gives us a controversial appraisal of the 'Self-Help' industry and questions whether, like dieting businesses, self-help is founded on failure. Pete explains how many people fall into the trap of expecting a coach or book to be the answer, whilst in reality, only we can be responsible for combatting the victim mindset and making positive action.

Pete reminds us that, despite what we read or are told, we are not broken - describing our gift of being able to grow and improve, Pete concludes by sharing a couple of powerful tools for shaping our mindsets and evaluating progress in moving towards our goals.

This is a must-listen to episode for anyone interested in the broader industry and how to maximise your efforts.

What do you define success as? For most people, success looks something like a little more money, free time, happiness and contentment mixed together in varying amounts. However, very few of us are really aware of what fundamental actions it takes in order for us to be successful - the small, daily ritualistic actions that create a powerful growth mindset.

In this episode of Mi365 Podcasts, Pete revisits the importance of creating and sticking to rituals and dishes out a dose of tough love to encourage us to face our current reality head on. Pete explains how rituals are neither good or bad, but are simple automatic processes that lead to a specific outcome. Collectively, these rituals can have a powerful effect on moving us closer to what we really care about, but conversely, can pull us off course and create confusion and doubt. Pete shares expert advice for how to implement and assess rituals and helps us to identify the one thing that will move us closer to our goals.

What rituals do you have? What impact would another positive ritual have on your life? Share with us what you've learnt from this episode in the comments below!

We all need coaching. One common factor between successful sports players, musicians and business executives alike is that they all have coaches or mentors who help them to reach their full potential. So why don't everyday people? How would having a coach change your perception of the world and your future ambitions?

In this episode, we unpack two of the key teachings of Bruce Lee; a man famous for his martial arts prowess, but also a keen philosopher, advocate for self-empowerment and mentor. Bruce believed the following two principles were the key to long-term success:

  1. Self-actualisation - what makes us really feel alive? Why do we want to achieve a specific goal? What impact will developing mastery have on me reaching my goal?
  2. Application of Knowledge - the only real help is self-help which comes with a sacrifice.

Join us as our host Pete Cohen delves into the detail behind these principles and links in with useful tools that can help boost your success in these two areas. Warning - this is not a history lesson, but instead, 15 hard-hitting minutes that could radically change your perception of your future potential.

If you were an athlete or high powered business executive, you would be pretty confident that you'd be mentally tough in order to survive. But how can we develop mental toughness? Is it something that we all can learn to meet our goals and ambitions?

In this episode, our host Pete Cohen describes exactly what mental toughness is, how we can cultivate it and explains why it applies to all of us. Using case studies from the world of sport, Pete empowers us to see our lives as a competition with our inner self and helps us to apply this mindset to three key areas: 1) Health, 2) Family & Friends and 3) Work & Service. Pete describes the difference between top sports stars and most people, citing their clear vision, ability to go all in and disregard for looking bad as the secret to their mental toughness.

Pete goes on to talk about mental toughness in the context of 'work-life balance' and outlines the only effective tools for regenerating mental toughness on a daily basis, including 1) solitude, 2) mindfulness & calming activities and 3) high quality sleep.

Pete reminds us that we all have the ability to get better, and provides us with another hard-hitting dose of motivation to live life by our own rules.

When do you have to be mentally tough? How do you replenish your mental toughness Share with us what you've learnt from this episode in the comments below!
