In our special monthly episode, we are joined by our amazing Mi365 member of the month for March 2018: Jim Morgan!
 
Jim shares with us his story of how he stumbled across Mi365 after suffering from poor mental health and negative self-talk. After making the decision to move away from a fixed mindset, Jim tells us how he started to implement a series of rituals including meditation, juicing and journalling to improve his mindset and start to live in the present.
 
Jim and Pete discuss the importance of developing inner confidence; with Jim describing how connecting with nature has helped him become calmer and more content. Jim goes on to describe four elements for success: 1) Having access to a positive community, 2) Developing a positive mindset, 3) Self-awareness & Emotional honesty and 4) Compassion for others and self and puts these into the context of being a man in 2018.
 
The pair conclude with a fascinating discussion on the meaning of 'perfection', with Jim detailing the challenges between living in the present vs. planning for the future. A great episode with a true Mi365er.

There are very few things we all know we should do but don't. Yet despite the rising popularity of mindfulness practice, many of us still struggle to find the time and/or a technique that works for us to access this meditative state.
 
In this episode, Pete describes his personal struggles with practising mindfulness - the art of reflection and management of personal energy and provides a simple tool (Priming) to shift from mindlessness (running on auto-pilot) to mindfulness. Having achieved a regular mindfulness practice habit, Pete outlines five benefits to practising mindfulness on a regular basis and how these can result in a full body transformation:
 
1) Strength training for the mind - increasing awareness & maximising attention & focus.
2) Boosting willpower & combatting information overload.
3) Boosting immune function
4) Supporting healthy gene expression ('epigenetics')

"Hell is coming to the end of your life and meeting the person you could have become"
 
We all have the power to do incredible things. However, our ability to achieve is governed by two forces - forward into growth or stagnation in our comfort zones. By adopting a 'This is Me' mindset, we can learn to fill the void between where we are and where we want to go and ignore the negative voice within - otherwise known as the 'Duck'.
 
Pete describes the dangers of negative self-talk i.e. "I just don't feel like it" and how this causes us to slowly destroy our future potential by eroding away time. Pete outlines how we can combat the negative inner voice by 1) having a crystal-clear vision of who you want to become and 2) becoming aware of microdecisions - the sum of the small, almost insignificant decisions that we make hundreds of times per day. Together, by mastery of these skills we can regain control over our personal power and become a better version of ourselves.
