Are you struggling with unwanted thoughts? Do your thoughts ever create problems?

In this episode of the Pete Cohen Podcast, we talk about the power of thought and how our thoughts have the power to both positively and negatively shape our lives.

How we think directly influences how we feel. And our feelings are known to physically affect our bodies - triggering both disease and healing (as shown by the placebo effect).

Our bodies are designed to be the servants of the mind, yet Pete describes that nowadays this is very rarely the case. By harnessing the power of motivation and willpower, it is possible to ignore how we feel in favour for achieving a specific goal or moving towards a shared vision.

Listen as we explore:

  1. The importance of humour and awareness of your internal dialogue;
  2. How to interrupt negative thought processes;
  3. Why the thought processes needed to get us here are unlikely to get us to where we want to go.

Our minds are tricksters - we should all be talking about what we're thinking more!

When you think of a genius, who first comes to mind? An artist? Scientist? Sports player?

Regardless of the subject area, geniuses exhibit similar traits that can all lead to finding fulfilment and becoming successful.

In a brand new special eight-part series, Pete explores the common factors linking geniuses and explains how you too can become a genius.

In the final instalment of the Genius series, we recap the entire series and the lessons discussed over the previous 7 episodes.

Entering a 'genius zone' is not easy. It requires constant work but it isn't something you are born with - anyone can become a genius by nurturing their innate gifts. Pete describes the common factor - the breaking of conditioned responses - as key to becoming a genius and to break free of our pasts and move towards a life free from mediocrity.

In this episode, we summarise:

  1. What a genius really is;
  2. How to identify where you are and where you want to be;
  3. Why you don't need to be the next Shakespeare/Jordan/Gandhi!

In a brand new special eight-part series, Pete explores the common factors linking geniuses and explains how you too can become a genius.

In Part 7, we explore the life of Mahatma Gandhi. Born in 1869, Gandhi faced a lot of adversity and failure. After struggling as a lawyer, Gandhi moved to South Africa where Indians were second class citizens because of the colour of their skin.

Rather than succumb to the status quo, Gandhi fought for political reform, equality and changes to society without the use of violence. In 1915, Gandhi returned to India during the struggle for independence from the British Empire and became a popular figurehead for peaceful progress and a national hero before assassination in 1948.

How is it possible to refrain from violence when under constant attack? What about 'attacks' from negative ideas? How do we protect ourselves against the thoughts of others?

Learn from Gandhi:

1. The types of violence that we face and how to overcome with peace;
2. Why forgiveness requires you to be stronger than the perpetrator;
3. How to change the world through changing yourself.

In Part 6, we dive into the mindset of arguably the most famous English writer of all time - William Shakespeare. Studied throughout schools across the globe, Shakespeare has become a household name despite humble origins and authored almost 40 plays and countless other writings. However, it was not the sheer volumes of his work that made his works timeless - rather it was the first time that the complex nature of the human psyche was explored and discussed in society. So how did Shakespeare do it?

Join us as we uncover:

  1. The power of observation in becoming a genius;
  2. What it really means to be human;
  3. Why bringing people together is a recipe for success.

In Part 1, we discuss how to think for yourself. For most of us, the biggest battle in life we face is the one against ourselves. Humans are intrinsically programmed for fear in order to survive, yet in this modern world this limits our potential and traps us in a comfort zone.

Join us as we explore:

  1. How (and why!) the definition of the word 'genius' has changed over the last 500 years,
  2. How to ignore the truths of others and instead, focus on your own truths through finding a goal to move you forward,
  3. How to find what makes us truly unique.

Relentless. It’s something that most of us would like to be, yet very few of us actually are.

The ability to start something and follow it through to completion is a real skill. Most of us will have experienced starting something but giving up part-way through, whether that’s a diet, gym program, work project, new business… This can quickly knock our confidence and make us less likely to start new projects and endeavours.

We all start with the best intentions, so how comes we rarely finish? In this episode, we explore what it takes to become unstoppable and how this can be the difference that makes the difference in achieving your goals.

In this episode, learn:

  1. Why outside the box thinking is necessary for being relentless
  2. How visualising your future self can speed up your ability to commit and
  3. Why feelings should (sometimes) be ignored to stay on track!

When technology becomes outdated, most of us are guilty of throwing it away and buying the latest version. However, if we want to upgrade ourselves – including both our bodies and our minds, it’s not that simple. Humans are not disposable, but we are upgradable and in this episode we explore how to harness the power of our minds to trigger our innate growth response.

Using examples of high-performing athletes, Pete explains how the image of ourselves governs what we achieve. Pete describes the Reticular Activating System (RAS) and its role as the gatekeeper of sensory information. Our RAS filter out information which it doesn’t perceive as important and will continually flag information which affirms our current beliefs – “I can’t do it”. It is possible to train your RAS to identify information which supports a new version of you – you as confident, determined, empowered and able to deliver your dreams and ambitions.

Without setting a vision, it is incredibly easy to get caught up in modern life and in 12 months’ time be in a very similar position. By using priming meditation, it is possible to invent any ‘re-invention of the self’, which can be supercharged by incorporating positive energy and excitement into your plans for the future.

 Join us as we explore the psychology of supercharging our personal development efforts.

We're all in the business of creating movies. We write our own scripts, find our supporting cast and act it out and ultimately this becomes the story of our lives. A great life happens by design, not by chance and we all need a framework to create a life where we are excited, empowered and inspired.

In this special 4 part series to celebrate the launch of the new Pete Cohen Podcast, we explore how we can create better stories by changing how we make our movies!

In Part 4, we discuss how to become world-class movie producers. Building on work from previous episodes covering the roles of the actor (Part 2) and director (Part 3), the role of the producer relies on having faith in our ability to create the life that we want.

Pete encourages us to look at our choices objectively and warns us of the traps behind falling back into our old conditioning. He explains that the decisions we make are writing the movie script - whether we like it or not!

As the series wraps up - Pete ends by asking us all to book a session with ourselves and asking 'Now what needs work?'.

Challenge: Let Pete know what you're working on!

In this special 4 part series to celebrate the launch of the new Pete Cohen Podcast, we explore how we can create better stories by changing how we make our movies!

In Part 3, we talk directors and actors. In our lives, we are (by default) the actor, but often allow others to direct us like we were actors in their movie.

In order to understand how to better 'direct' your life, it is crucial to understand how directors think and act. In this episode, Pete shares with us how to behave like a director and to create a story worth watching.

Challenge: Check in with yourself and prepare a 'script' for your life for the next 365 days, outlining what you'd like to achieve, the obstacles you expect to face and how you plan to get around them (WOOP).

In this special 4 part series to celebrate the launch of the new Pete Cohen Podcast, we explore how we can create better stories by changing how we make our movies!

In Part 2, we discuss the obstacles that stop us from living the life we deserve. Do you:

  1. Care what other people think too much?
  2. Fear failure so much that it stops you from taking risk?
  3. Have negative self beliefs that get in your way from achieving success?

Pete shares a simple framework for how to be happy and to stop living like zombies - just going through the motions and living for the weekend. With only 2% of the population living life by their own design, there has never been a more important time to take the reigns!

We are target-orientated beings and it is only by setting and achieving goals can we move away from what we don't want and move towards a better life. Pete explains how a simple mindset shift (from victim to creator) can have a massive effect on the quality of your life and put the odds back in your favour.

Challenge: Take immediate action after this podcast - try writing down what you want to achieve in the next month!

We all need a coach. Whether we want to have better health, wealth or relationships, a coach can massively accelerate you to get to where you want to be.

In this episode, we're asking you 4 simple questions to see whether you're the type of person we're looking for:

  1. Are you where you want to be in life?
  2. Do you have any goals?
  3. Do you believe that your future is unwritten?
  4. Do you think you have the power to change?

If the answer to these questions is No - stop reading!

If the answer is Yes then you might benefit from coaching!

Humans are designed to want a feeling of achievement and we can harness this intrinsic need to get whatever it is we want.

It is so easy to stay where we are now because the negative effects are small but accumulate over time. Pete explains how this happens and how we can use pain as a separate driver to put the odds back in your favour.

There is something out there, right now, which is better than what you have now - less stress, more free time and more joy. Work with us to help you find it!

The world is suffering from a shortage of inspiration. Wherever we look, we see people moving through the world without passion and who are failing to fulfil their true purpose in life.

What we need is an Inspiration Revolution.

It is estimated that only 2% of the population truly know where they want to go or know the type of life they want to lead. For the rest of us, we often move away from things or situations we don’t like, but rarely proactively move towards something we want.

By being inspired, we have the ability to make better choices and move towards where we want to go. When we are inspired, we have the ability to breath life into projects, as well as inspiring others and making the world a much more interesting and exciting place to be.

We are surrounded by an infinite number of possibilities and opportunities on our journeys through life, giving us the chance to create a live a brilliant story. The secret is to start with the end in mind and work back to create a story that you would want to be the lead character in.

We all have heroes. Whether it’s a relative, friend or someone from TV, our heroes have the power to shape our future decisions and guide who we become.

In this emotional finale to the Mi365 Podcast series, we hear from our host Pete Cohen about one of his heroes – actor/comedian Rik Mayall, made famous during the 80s with hit British sitcoms including Black Adder and The Young Ones.

Pete describes the duality of our minds – from the inspired genius that exists within us all to the self-limiting duck that stops us from expressing our true selves. This balance is governed by the quality of our thoughts, with Pete explaining the link between thoughts, emotions, feelings and the quality of our lives.

By changing our thoughts, we can change our lives – especially by using the power of humour to take back control from the duck and live life on our own terms. Rik – an excellent user of humour – outlined four key principles which Pete contextualises into our modern, stressful environment:

1.    All men are equal. No one can be your genuine superior.
2.    Your future is as bright as you make it.
3.    Change is a constant of life – never lose your wisdom
4.    If you want to live a complete and full life, you have to be free. Love is the answer.

Join us as we conclude the Mi365 Podcast series with an epic tribute to a true genius – we all have the ability to have impact and bring light into others’ lives.

On the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, Pete and Patti discuss the importance of celebrating diversity, inclusion and pride in this special episode of Pete and Patti’s Powerful Particulars podcast!

In this candid episode, the pair discuss what it is like to be marginalised in society and the historical (and not so historical) stigmas of being different. Using ‘being in the closet’ as a metaphor, Pete explores the importance of acknowledging who we really are (independent of sexual orientation) and true to ourselves.

Patti shares her experiences of growing up gay – from being a child in Idaho through to ‘coming out’ in her teenage years and the impact that it had on her family. Fast-forward 20 years and it’s a very different story, with Patti describing the very tangible benefits of encouraging diversity – including understanding your audience / customers better.

As people become more accepting, it is important that we continue to support others to be their authentic selves; celebrating the differences between us. The pair wrap up this emotion-packed episode by asking where does prejudice and insecurity stem from and reminding us that on an energetic level, we are all very much the same!

It’s time. Our brand new podcast series is going live: Pete & Patti’s Powerful Particulars! Join Pete and his new co-host, Mi365 favourite Patti Dobrowolski as they debate the big questions live from your speakers! If you want to be inspired and question the world around us, you’ve come to the right place!

We speak a lot about leadership. Whether it is leading a team at work, or a family or just yourself, there has never been a more important time to tap into our innate abilities to guide and inspire.

Like a Russian doll, we carry around so many parts. Some of these parts are focused on the past, whilst some focus on tomorrow and yet both types can create negative emotion and cause distraction to lead you away from your chosen path.

When we imagine ourselves as a professional, we can help shake off these feelings of inadequacy and take charge of our actions in a positive way. The pair explain how it is important to find a good example of a ‘leader’ we’re inspired by and to make sure we are aware of our intrinsic self-value - we are all worthy of leading ourselves to greatness.

In this episode, Pete and Patti ask the tough questions behind improving as a leader and draw upon quantum science to outline how meditation and mindfulness can be a valuable tool in accessing the ‘information field’ for our advantage.

Learn from the pair:

1.    How shifting your brainwaves out of a beta state can improve leadership attributes;
2.    How to harness the power of the reticular activating system for pointing out your strengths;
3.    How we are all phoenixes at heart with the ability to be reborn from adversity.

Are you conscious of your brainwaves? Is leadership something you want to develop more? Share your thoughts with us via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter!

We can all choose where we live. We’re not talking about location – we’re talking about where we choose to put our attention – the past, present or future.

We have a lot of thoughts. Each day, we have an average of 50-70,000 thoughts – all with the potential to radically alter our emotions, mood and physiology. Research shows that for most of us, many of these thoughts are connected to the past and this creates problems for moving forward and living our best lives.

In this episode, we explore the link between thoughts and physiology and describe how our bodies become our subconscious mind – especially after 35. Over 70% of the population suffer from chronic stress and this manifests itself as the ‘victim mindset’. Pete explains that our thoughts work in a cycle of positive feedback – reinforcing these negative beliefs.

·     Why children do not suffer from living in the past;
·     What makes a powerful morning routine;
·     How meditation is the tool to reprogram you internal operating system to lay down new neurological pathways.

How often do you change your mind? We’re not talking about stubbornness - but the big mindset shifts that really change your life for the better.

We are all a series of pre-programmed habits but have an innate power to create and change the status quo. In this episode, Pete and Patti explore creation at the most fundamental levels and explain the importance of creation and how we can harness our ability to tap into the unlimited possibility around us. Using examples from the Ancient Greeks through to celebrities, the pair describe classic examples of the manifestation process in action – referencing the brilliant work by Dr Joe Dispenza.

Our paths are unique to us and, as the pair describe, is one of our greatest blessings. Whilst we can change our minds based of the advice from others, we must align ourselves with our ‘true north’ in order to combat the barrage of distractions and meet our full potential. Our attention is a vital resource which can reprogram our internal workings – so protect it wisely!

In this episode, learn how to change your mind today!

1.    Form a clear vision
2.    See it everyday
3.    Believe it hard!
4.    Act as if it is happening
