Imposter Syndrome is something we should all be talking about. In this episode, Pete starts a debate about this topical issue and describes what it is, the effects it can have and how you can overcome it.
If you’ve ever doubted yourself or felt fear of being exposed/found out then it’s likely that you’ve experienced Imposter Syndrome. It is commonly associated with high achievers, but especially common in women but in reality, it is likely that we all have it to some degree. Imposter Syndrome can have massive effects too – by limiting our feelings of inspiration, we can often delay or stop trying to achieve more, causing us to stagnate and feel like a failure.
Pete shares with us his own candid experiences of Imposter Syndrome, as well as how he managed to overcome these feelings through analysing his feelings and reconditioning his response. He explains that we are forced to grow up and fit into society in order to become socially accepted and that conformity can be the trigger to start Imposter Syndrome.
