Mi365 Daily Intentions

Oct 23, 2018

In recent years, supporting positive mental health has become a massive movement, with 10th October now designated 'World Mental Health Day'. However, mental health remains a big challenge across the globe, with rising levels of depression, anxiety and suicide.

In this episode, Pete probes the underlying causes of poor mental health and argues that we need to shift from 'mental health' to 'mental well-being' to cover the non physiological aspects to positive living, along with our brain chemistry.

Pete argues that modern day humans experience the same pressures as our ancestors in many ways, but it is the intensity and prolonged exposure to pressure that over time causes serious changes in our physiology.

Join us in another fascinated (and controversial!) episode as we explore:

  1. What great mental well-being actually looks like;
  2. Why society doesn't want you to feel good enough;
  3. Why babies don't suffer from depression;
  4. How journalling can be a useful tool for analysing thoughts;
  5. How to find humour in our internal dialogue.

What do you do to combat negative emotions? What's your take on Pete's views on society? Share with us what you've learnt from this episode in the comments below!
